Mrs. Sally Shatila Kader is a global peace advocate who tirelessly leads efforts to build bridges between the United States and the Arab and Muslim world. She is also a leading advocate for women and children rights worldwide.
As President and one of the Founders of The United States Federation for Middle East Peace (USFMEP) – a bipartisan non-profit organization promoting the United Nations’ commitment to international peace and justice through educational programs, public relations and community outreach efforts. Mrs. Kader has traveled the United States and the Middle East providing forums for Americans with information on the Middle East’s religions, cultures, history and current affairs. One of the goals of the USFMEP is to promote an understanding of the Middle East through seminars, workshops, roundtables, and public forums. USFMEP chapters have been established across the world from Hawaii to Australia, Cairo, Egypt to Washington, D.C. to Lebanon and Kansas City, Missouri, Malaysia to Hungary
The USFMEP has hosted International Peace Conferences at the Arab League Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, and established networks and liaison offices in global regions concerning peace in the Middle East utilizing the latest methods in information technology.
The USFMEP has hosted annual multiple forums during the United Nations’ annual Commission on the Status of Women and forums specifically on human trafficking with global leaders. Mrs. Kader is an Ambassador of the “Children in Slavery – The 21st Century Campaign,” (CIS), and has participated in diplomatic corps forums IN Washington, D.C., and human trafficking conferences sponsored by CIS. As an Ambassador of CIS, Mrs. Kader advocates not only concern for human trafficking on the street, but also over the Internet. She serves on an auxiliary CIS board specifically supporting the Virtual Global Task Force, which is the first-ever international operational law enforcement task force to protect children worldwide over the Internet.
Mrs. Kader has served as the Director of the United Nations’ Women’s Guild in New York City. Also she served on numerous board directors She was born in Lebanon where she has sponsored programs for the handicap. For generations, her family has led humanitarian engagements for the protection of the Palestinian refugees. Mrs. Kader is active with the Republican Women’s Caucus and has been the guest speaker at their forums. In recent years, Mrs. Kader has visited with Mrs. Bush at the White House.
Mrs. Kader hold a degree in history and archeology graduated from University of Lebanon with a major in history. She is married to Ralph Kader, a 22-year veteran of the United Nations, whose tenure included diplomatic missions around the world, as well as serving on various peace initiatives with the United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Operations.
Mrs. Kader is a recipient of numerous awards for peace including empowerment of women.
